Now that my uncle Tony is a free man and has his own blog, it's time to broaden the scope of this blog to encompass commentary of music, movies, politics, parenthood, war, peace, and anything else that strikes my fancy. Credit for the blog name goes to Horace by way of Wilfred Owen.

Details of phone call from prison
Tony called Gisela recently to let her know that the prison authorities informed him about a visit to proctologist in early July. This is good news--and progress--indeed. Diarrhea continues to be the most persistent symptom. My mother asked Gisela if he might be able to take pills to relieve the diarrhea symptoms (the loss of fluid is making Tony weak). However, Gisela told her that the authorities will not deliver any medications to the prisoners.
